He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Dakota in 1984. Dr. Sprik then completed his residency at the University of Minnesota Department of Ophthalmology in Minneapolis in 1988. Following his residency he did extensive training in refractive surgery with prominent refractive surgeons.
Dr. Sprik specializes in Refractive Surgery, which includes Custom LASIK and PRK, Intralase, Astigmatic keratotomy, LTK, LRI, Phakic Intraocular Lenses (Verisyse and Visian), Intacs, refractive lensectomy, and presbyopic intraocular lenses.
His achievements include the Eli Lilly Award for Excellence, the Upjohn Achievement Dean’s Award and the Richard T. Olson Best Resident Teaching Award at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sprik co-authored patient education brochures for several procedures related to refractive surgery.
Since Dr. Sprik’s arrival at the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin from South Dakota in 1997, the Refractive Surgery Program has grown to become the most experienced in North Central Wisconsin. With 20 years of refractive experience, Dr. Sprik’s results for LASIK surgery are outstanding.
Dr. Sprik has proctored refractive surgeons across the country in LASIK and other refractive surgery techniques. He is certified to use the VISX, Intralase, Nidek, and Sunrise Technology lasers, as well as the only FDA approved microkeratome, the Hansatome. Dr. Sprik was one of the first surgeons in the United States to become certified and trained to insert Intacs and the Verisyse phakic intraocular lens.

Dr. Edwards graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. He then went on to earn his M.D. from the University of Iowa. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. His national board exam score placed him in the top 3% of the country.
While at the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin Dr. Edwards has blended cataract and refractive procedures to include correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Edwards has also implanted several intraocular lens types to reduce the need for reading glasses. He is certified to use the VISX and Intralase lasers, along with the Hansatome microkeratome.
