Dr. Carli grew up in Northeast Wisconsin. For his undergraduate education he attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA in 2019 and then traveled to upstate New York to start his specialty training. He completed both his internship and ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 2023. After residency, he completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Price Vision Group in Indianapolis, IN in 2024.
Dr. Carli is excited to return to Wisconsin to practice. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors.
Dr. Carli joined the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin in 2024.

Afua A. Shin, M.D., received her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University, New Haven, CT, in 2009. From 2009-2010, she led an independent research project at the Tokyo Ariake University of Medical and Health Sciences in Tokyo, Japan. She earned her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, in 2014.The following year, Dr. Shin finished her internship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, and went on to complete her ophthalmology residency there in 2018.
Dr. Shin completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases at the University of California Davis in July of 2019.
