Hearing Aids Enhance Lives for People of All Ages

People often see hearing loss as a sign of aging and consequently think of hearing aids as a technology that can only benefit older individuals. The reality is that it’s a condition that affects a wide demographic. Nearly six million people in the U.S. between the ages of 18 and 44 have hearing loss, and only 35% of those affected by hearing loss are over the age of sixty-four. So why should we be surprised to see people of all ages using hearing aids to enhance their lives?
This recent article from the Better Hearing Institute draws an interesting comparison between hearing aids and the other technologies we use every day. Just as we rely on smartphones and other electronic devices to stay connected with friends and family over the internet, we can take advantage of the available hearing aid technology to stay connected with friends and family that are sitting across the table or across the room.
