Dr. Aschbrenner earned his medical degree from UWSMPH in Madison, WI in 2006. He completed his internship at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI before going to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill to complete his ophthalmology residency. Dr. Aschbrenner completed his Vitreo-Retinal Disease Fellowship at Barnes Retina Institute/Washington University in Saint Louis, MO in 2012.

Dr. Carli grew up in Northeast Wisconsin. For his undergraduate education he attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA in 2019 and then traveled to upstate New York to start his specialty training. He completed both his internship and ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 2023. After residency, he completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Price Vision Group in Indianapolis, IN in 2024.
Dr. Carli is excited to return to Wisconsin to practice. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors.

He earned his M.D. from the University of Iowa Medical School in Iowa City, IA, in 1999 and finished his internship at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI, the following year. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Mayo Clinic Department of Ophthalmology in Rochester, MN, 2003.
In addition to scoring in the top 3% on his board exams, Dr. Edwards has performed thousands of eye surgeries and has certifications with the VISX laser, Intralase, and custom LASIK procedure, as well as being Board Certified and a member of AAO and ISRS. Dr. Edwards joined the clinic in 2003.

Dr. Flatter graduated from the University of California in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. He went on to earn his medical degree in 2015 from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and while there served as the Vice President of the American College of Physicians, Student Chapter.
Dr. Flatter completed his internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin affiliated hospital, St. Joseph’s in Milwaukee, and his ophthalmology residency at Penn State Eye Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He has served with World Blindness Outreach in the Dominican Republic, providing care for cataract and corneal transplant patients.

Dr. Gandy received her Bachelor degree in Music from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2007. Before attending medical school, she earned a Master and a Doctorate degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland. She then pursued her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, graduating in 2017. The following year, she completed an internship at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College in 2021, followed by Glaucoma Fellowship at the Duke Eye Center of Duke University in 2022.

Deepak Sambhara, M.D.

Dr. Sambhara received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA in 2008. He earned his M.D from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL in 2014 and finished his internship at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ the following year. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Penn State Eye Center in Hershey, PA in 2018.
After residency, Dr. Sambhara spent an additional year of training at Duke Eye Center in Durham, NC, where he completed a fellowship in medical retina and diseases of the vitreous cavity. There, he was trained in cutting edge angiographic techniques for diagnosing and managing retinal vascular diseases, and was exposed to novel drug design research for Age Related Macular Degeneration.
Dr. Sambhara has received research funding and travel grants to present at many national meetings, including ARVO and ASCRS, and is an active member of AAO and ASRS. Dr. Sambhara joined the clinic in 2019.

Dr. Wingelaar grew up on the west side of Michigan along the lakeshore. His undergraduate degree was in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. He earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2017. He then completed his internship at Beaumont Hospital in Taylor, MI. From there he went on to complete his ophthalmology residency in 2021 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison WI, where he served as chief resident. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Retina Institute in St. Louis, MO in 2023.
Dr. Wingelaar is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist.

Dr. Hoffmann graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Her externship rotations include the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, The Lighthouse Center for the Blind and the Illinois Eye Institute, both in Chicago.
She is an active member of the Wisconsin Valley Optometric Society, the Wisconsin Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She previously served as the President of the Wisconsin Valley Optometric Society, and regularly volunteers for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program.
Dr. Hoffmann practiced in Stevens Point before joining the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin in 2014.

Erica E. Kirk, O.D.

After growing up in Wausau and attending the Newman Catholic Schools, Dr. Kirk graduated from Marquette University Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She then obtained her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) with the Highest Distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. After passing all three parts of her National Boards Examinations, Dr. Kirk completed her externship rotations at the Michigan College of Optometry, the Wyoming VA Medical Center, and the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin. Her externship training offered Dr. Kirk hands-on experience in treating ocular disease, pediatric and binocular vision disorders, surgical co-management, specialty contact lens fitting, and primary eye care.
After completing her training, Dr. Kirk was happy to return home and practice in Central Wisconsin prior to joining the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin in 2024.

Dr. Fish previously practiced at Fort Healthcare Audiology in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin. A native of Stevens Point, she returned to Central Wisconsin in 2014 and joined the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin as the Hearing Center’s Audiologist.
